The White House this month promoted a service that helps girls as young as 14 years old obtain abortions with the knowledge or consent of their parents.
In an Instagram post the day after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the Biden administration told readers: “While Roe v. Wade has been overturned, many reproductive health care services remain protected by law.” The post invited readers to “learn more on the rights you still have to birth control and other preventative health services.”
Among the services touted in the post was “AbortionFinder.org,” a website that offers “information about abortion funds and resources, as well as where to find your state’s laws or legal help.”
That website specifically allows searches by young women aged “15 or younger,” and offers them advice on how to avoid seeking parental permission before obtaining the procedure.
