Since early 2020, Americans have made huge sacrifices – all for the greater good.
They have seen hundreds of thousands of loved ones die. Their businesses were closed. They couldn’t make rent. Their children missed out on childhood. High school athletics were paused and rites of passage like prom were cancelled.
All at the direction of Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Schools were closed with his blessing. His directions influenced decisions on lockdowns and nearly everything else. He took note of those who didn’t follow his guidance and attacked them in the media. He slammed President Trump’s predictions on reopening the country. He criticized the Trump administration’s COVID-19 response days before the 2020 election. He complimented China – and then criticized President Trump for not putting China’s “feet to the fire.” He rebuked Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for wanting to open schools.
This little doctor was, in his own way, running his own kingdom. He pulled the strings and he enjoyed it. He reveled in it. He made himself a media darling. Fauci the savvy self-promoter, putting himself out there as the humble expert who would tell America the truth. The little doctor who could.
He was on magazine covers and was named Time Magazine’s Guardian of the Year. Fauci was so effective that (despite being the highest paid federal employee) he was awarded a prestigious $1 million prize for “speaking truth to power” during the COVID-19 crisis.
As he told the Financial Times in July 2020:
“I have a reputation, as you probably have figured out, of speaking the truth at all times and not sugar-coating things.”
It turns out, however, that Fauci has been lying to us the entire time to preserve that power. Lies not just about himself and his “honesty” but about the origins of COVID-19.
This puts the past year in perspective:
You lost family. You made the sacrifices. You did what Fauci asked. You pay his salary. While you carried the burdens, Fauci – and those within the U.S. government – decided you didn’t deserve to hear the truth about the origins of COVID-19.
The Fauci E-Mails and COVID-19 Origins
On February 1, 2020, Fauci was informed by scientist Kristian Andersen that the features of the virus “(potentially) look engineered” and that Andersen’s group found “the genome inconsistent with expectations from evolutionary theory.”
This was trouble. Had the U.S. been funding the research created COVID-19?
Apparently, Fauci was concerned. The Wuhan lab had been conducting gain of function research on bat-originating viruses. According to an e-mail from colleague Hugh Auchincloss at NIH, one paper indicated “the experiments were performed before the gain of function pause but have since been reviewed and approved by NIH.”
This was damaging information to Fauci, the NIH, and the United States government. Imagine the outrage and pushback at those who conducted or funded this research. And so the cover-up began.
Fauci couldn’t tell the truth because that would diminish his authority. He spent the next 1+ year scamming the public. He told National Geographic that this virus “could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated.” Instead, the virus likely “evolved in nature and then jumped species.”
This became a multi-agency effort. While Fauci and the NIH/CDC promised us that this was a naturally-occurring virus, the State Department smothered the investigation into COVID-19’s origins, threatening investigators that it would “bring unwelcome attention to the U.S. government funding” of gain of function research in Wuhan.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence – and the greater intelligence community – weren’t keen on getting to the bottom of the COVID-19 origins, either. On April 30, 2020, it issued a press release concurring “with the wide scientific consensus that the COVID-19 virus was not manmade or genetically modified.”
This same intelligence community now isn’t sure about the science – although the science hasn’t changed. They’ve now walked-back their April 2020 assessment and acknowledge the possibility that the virus escaped from a lab.
This embarrassing about-face makes no difference to President Biden, who recently assigned the intelligence community to “redouble their efforts to collect and analyze information” on the origination of COVID-19.
That assignment is dangerous to the truth. President Biden isn’t directing scientists to figure out the origins. Instead, he has assigned that task to the intelligence community, a collection of government agencies that, by their very nature, aren’t concerned with the truth. The intelligence community will find whatever they want to find.
Meanwhile, after the Fauci e-mails were released, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki voiced the Administration’s support for Dr. Fauci, calling him “an undeniable asset.”
Psaki has a point. Fauci has been an asset. The question is – for whom?…
