With the eyes of the country watching closely, New Jersey just elected Mikie Sherrill as Governor over Jack Ciattarelli.
After President Donald Trump threw his support behind Ciattarelli, this race was seen as a test of how voters have responded to the Trump administration in a politically diverse state like New Jersey.
Democrats in Trenton have been pushing hard in the past several weeks to support Sherrill, with many elected officials actively campaigning for her, working phone banks, attending events, and walking around Trenton with the candidate to do face-to-face campaigning.

“Personally, I am very excited that our state chose a leader who has promised to be the Governor for every New Jersey citizen and has vowed to fight for our most vulnerable,” said Mercer County Commissioner Sam Frisby. “I watched Governor Elect Sherrill and Lt. Governor Elect Caldwell not just talk about how they want to see Trenton rise, but I walked the streets of Trenton with them as they engaged the people in our city. No other candidate in the past two decades has walked as many streets in the Capital City as they have in the past two months. They will be great for this city and our state. She understands that affordability in our state is the biggest issue that threatens our sustainability!”
