President Donald Trump is beginning to fill his Cabinet, the members of which will help implement his priorities.
Trump’s picks are beginning to go through Senate confirmation. The most controversial of which so far has been Pete Hegseth, who faced accusations of alcoholism, sexual assault and lack of experience. He lost the support of three Republican senators and was confirmed on Jan. 24 with a tie-breaking vote from Vice President JD Vance.
Trump already had one nominee withdraw from consideration, former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Florida), who had been investigated by the House Ethics Committee over allegations of statutory rape and drug use. He was replaced by Pam Bondi as the nominee for attorney general.
