Following his meeting at the White House, Sen Mitch McConnell announced from the Well of the Senate his stepping down as Republican leader of the Senate. He will remain in the Senate and says he’s going nowhere. He’s distinguished as the longest serving Republican leader of the U.S. Senate in history. As he says “I’m not going anywhere anytime soon.”
