Speaking to Rep. Adam Schiff on The View on Tuesday, pundit Morgan Ortagus asked a question that Schiff likely wasn’t expecting, about his role in backing the now-debunked Steele dossier that peddled the idea that former President Donald Trump was in league with Russia to steal the 2016 US presidential election.
“So I’ve asked you about something that’s in the news a lot right now,” Ortagus said. “You’ve been really prolific over the past few years being the head of the Intel Committee and you’ve defended, promoted, you even read into the Congressional Record, the Steele dossier. And we know last week, the main source of the dossier was indicted by the FBI for lying about most of the claims in that dossier. Do you have any reflections on your role in promoting this to the American people?”
