Amidst HEAVY scrutiny from Democrats, 2020 resulted in a sweeping voter reform bill SB1 passed by the Texas Republicans to tighten election security.
Per SB1, election administrators are now required to report vote tallies within 24 hours. SB1 also requires ID to vote by mail, bans drive thru voting, bans 24-hour voting, and enhances poll watcher protections.
