Okay. So Israel is snug in bed covered with a thick blanket of U.S. dollars. That is the good news. Whatever progress Israel is making on the ground in Gaza is being offset by diplomatic setbacks stemming from its indiscriminate killing of Palestinian civilians. Today, Jordan recalled its Ambassador to Israel and told Israel’s Ambassador to stay home and not return to Amman. Things are not looking much better in South America:
Israel criticized Bolivia, Chile and Colombia on Wednesday after the South American countries undertook a series of diplomatic moves to protest Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Other Latin American countries, including Argentina and Brazil, have also increased their criticism of the impact that Israel’s military operations are having on civilians.
Typical Israel. Rather than try to smooth things over with Chile and Colombia in private, Israel punches back in public. Stupid! And let’s be clear, Brazil accused Israel of committing “war crimes.” This constitutes a little more than JUST “criticism.” I think “condemnation” is a better term. With each passing day Israel is digging itself a deeper hole.
