A rather fiery exchange took place today before the cameras in the White House Oval office.
Ukraine’s President Zelensky arrived at the White House with a warm welcome from President Trump, Vice President Vance and Secretary Rubio. The first part of their meeting was going somewhat swimmingly, but then Zelensky challenged VP Vance to answer his question about diplomacy as it relates to Russia and its actions inside Ukraine beginning in 2014 thru to 2022. It was in 2022 when Russia launched their Special Military Operation. It was at this point VP Vance stated ‘relitigating’ what started the war was unhelpful to the conversation at hand. Peace.
Before moving on, allow me to provide a bit of context behind the words Zelensky chose to use when stating Russia was already fighting inside Ukraine starting in 2014.
Following the Obama-Clinton backed coup of Viktor Yanukovych in 2014, the extreme right Azov battalion, followers of the long dead Nazi Stepan Bandera, moved into the Donbas region of Ukraine. An enclave of Russian speaking people who remained loyal to the old Soviet Union now Russia.
The Azov Battalion used the entirety of the Donbas region as their training ground by tormenting these people. The torment started at a seaside village where these men in training would walk into people’s homes and simply take them over pillaging their possessions, beating the homeowners. They would beat these people for no reason at all. They would kill these people for no reason at all. They took over the entire village of a couple of hundred people and made their lives a living hell.
Then one day they just got up and left this village, and took what they learned and began spreading their growing forces throughout the entire Donbas region. This is when Russia began covertly sending arms over the border to the people of the Donbas so they could fight back.
This is the period Zelensky refers to when speaking of Russia being inside Ukraine starting in 2014 to 2022. What Zelensky is apparently unaware of is many of us have been waiting for such a time so as to finally tell the story to an audience who is educated moreso today than they would have been between 2014 – 2022.
For eight long miserable years the people of the Donbas which by 2022 spread to the Donetsk region were fighting a hot intense civil war they never imagined would occur. Yes Russia was arming these people and yes Zelensky and Ukrainian oligarchs were arming the Azovs.
After Biden and team stole the 2020 election, Putin and team knew then they had to act or the people of the Donbas and Donetsk regions would be slaughtered by the Azovs, the Right Sektor’s and other terrorist groups formed inside Ukraine and funded internally by Ukraine’s oligarchs.
Putin acted by launching the Special Military Operation targeting primarily these two regions of Ukraine. As you’ve heard or read Trump say more than once this war between Russia and Ukraine would never have started had he not been coup’d in 2020. No truer words could be said.
But that’s not what happened, and here we are today where a part of a peace deal was shoved to the curb because Zelensky wanted to relitigate how bad and evil Russia is for invading his country.
