Secretary Antony J. Blinken, along with Mexican Foreign Secretary Alicia Bárcena and Guatemalan Foreign Minister Carlos Ramiro Martínez, convened the U.S.-Mexico-Guatemala Trilateral Migration Ministerial Meeting on Wednesday.
The Migration meeting happened at the same time some Republicans in the House are trying to force realistic national security measures on the US Border in the face of escalating crime and massive groups of illegal aliens crossing into the nation unvetted.
But shutting the border down or protecting the American people was not the subject of any of the remarks. Keeping the border open and enticing more people to make their way into the country was the topic.
Antony Blinken spoke exclusively about immigration: “We are expanding the legal avenues to come to the US,” Univision reported about the meeting:

“Brotherhood with no borders is our goal,” Martinez said during his comments. “People are migrating for work and jobs, and we want to strengthen migration pathways with private sectors,” he added, pushing for temporary work solutions for migrants.
