U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended a Saudi Arabian citizen with suspected ties to terror interests in Yemen after he illegally crossed the U.S.-Mexico border, officials announced.
Chief Patrol Agent Chris Clem announced the apprehension by agents in the Yuma Sector, Arizona, on Twitter, calling the detained Saudi a “potential terrorist.”
The 21-year-old man came from Saudi Arabia, and Clem said he is connected to “several Yemeni subjects of interest.”
The man wore a jacket with an American flag patch and a Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance patch, officials said.
