During the Russian Security Council, President Putin announced that martial law was introduced in the DNR, LNR, and Kherson and Zaporozhye regions of Russia. Heads of regions will be given additional powers to ensure security.

Vladimir Putin said, – “The Kiev regime has refused to negotiate and continues to shell new Russian territories using terrorist methods.”

According to the Federal Constitutional Law “On Martial Law”, from the day the decree on the introduction of martial law comes into force, measures are taken to organize the production for state needs, to provide the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and other troops. The measures are valid only on the territory of new subjects.
What the law says:
— The protection of public order, the protection of military and critical infrastructure facilities is being strengthened;
– Economic, social and cultural facilities are being evacuated, as well as temporary resettlement of residents to safe areas;
– The activities of political parties and religious associations are suspended;
– Citizens are involved in work for the needs of defense and elimination of the consequences of the use of weapons by the enemy;
– The necessary property is seized from organizations and citizens of property with subsequent compensation;
– It is forbidden to hold meetings and strikes and to choose a place of stay or place of residence;
– Cars will be inspected, their movement will be restricted;
– This implies the introduction of a curfew and additional checks of documents;
– It is forbidden to sell weapons, ammunition, in some cases their seizure may be;
– Military censorship is introduced;
– International organizations whose activities are aimed at undermining the defense and security of the Russian Federation cease their activities.
