Attorney General William Barr clarified comments he made regarding voter fraud during a conversation with The Associated Press published on Tuesday. While he did not back away from his remarks, he emphasized that the Justice Department’s investigation is still ongoing.

The Associated Press released a report in which Barr was quoted as saying that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has not yet found evidence that voter fraud occurred on a level that it would impact the result of the election. “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election,” the attorney general said on Tuesday.

“Some media outlets have incorrectly reported that the Department has concluded its investigation of election fraud and announced an affirmative finding of no fraud in the election,” a DOJ spokesman stated. “That is not what the Associated Press reported nor what the Attorney General stated. The Department will continue to receive and vigorously pursue all specific and credible allegations of fraud as expeditiously as possible.”…
