Following testimony from yesterday’s House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing with Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle on the assassination attempt of President Donald Trump during his rally at Butler Township Fairgrounds, she tendered her resignation to Biden this morning.
Cheatle either stuck to a script or she was told to say nothing of import because she did not do any favors for herself, her colleagues or our nation. She obfuscated. She would answer questions giving nibbles of details and she was evasive.
This clip from the hearing posted by Viva Frei is a perfect snapshot that sums up what the remaining five-hours of answers by Cheatle was like.
This is hands-down the most powerful and relevant exchange of the entire hearing from @RepPatFallon
This alone is enough to warrant firing Kim Cheatle, charging Kim Cheatle, and jailing Kim Cheatle.

In the end she provided a few more pieces of information to aid those who are conducting ongoing investigations. Cheatle is remaining tight lipped. FBI Director Chris Wray is tight lipped as is Director Mayorkas of the Department of Homeland Security.
Why is anybody’s best guess. The norm is releasing updates by the lead agency on what their investigators are learning as more information is confirmed, but that’s not happened by any state, local or federal agency.
Cheatle continually referred to a report that will eventually be released, but when and who will release it is something we just have to trust is forthcoming at some point in time.
