The Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore collapsed early Tuesday after being hit by a container ship — sending cars plunging into the water in what was quickly declared a mass-casualty event.
Six people are unaccounted for and two have been rescued, authorities said during a press conference around 10 a.m. ET.
