Hungary blocked a €50 billion aid package to Ukraine hours after EU leaders agreed to open accession talks with Kyiv following a surprisingly rapid climbdown by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Leaders announced the Ukraine aid decision and other budgetary issues will be kicked down the road to an extraordinary EU leaders’ summit set for January.
