In a recent episode of the Tudor Dixon Podcast, former President Donald Trump took aim at pharmaceutical companies, urging them to release safety data on COVID-19 vaccines. The call for transparency comes amid a surge of reports concerning vaccine-related side effects, such as myocarditis, blood clots, and heart attacks.
“Pharmaceutical companies have an obligation to be honest,” Trump said. “If they are going to hold back, that means they’re holding back something that’s not good. So it’s good for them to be honest. And people are going to understand it too. That’s exactly what we have to be honest with, and they have to—any information, they have to release it.”
The former President’s comments were made in the context of the Biden administration’s recent announcement about funding a new vaccine. Trump questioned both the timing and the necessity of introducing a new vaccine, especially when comprehensive safety data for the existing vaccines has not been made public.
“They have to be honest with the numbers. The fact is, you know, they have an obligation to be honest, and if they are going to hold back, that means they’re holding back something that’s not good,” Trump reiterated. “So it’s good for them to be honest. And people are going to understand it too.”
