Donald Trump has landed in New York ahead of his surrender to authorities tomorrow as he faces arraignment on criminal charges.
The former president took a private jet, painted in red, white and blue with “TRUMP” in big letters on the side, from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to New York City’s LaGuardia Airport. He was driven in a convoy to Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he was expected to stay overnight ahead of a court appearance on Tuesday.
Trump supporters lined the streets to Palm Beach International Airport as Mr Trump took off from Florida – while a media scrum assembled in New York, with the roads locked down around the courthouse and Trump Tower.
Mr Trump walked alone down a flight of stairs from the jet, before climbing into an SUV for a drive in a motorcade to Trump Tower in Manhattan.
Once there, he waved to people behind barricades set up by police for security purposes and walked into Trump Tower, without publicly speaking.
